What is Pau D’arco?
Pau D’Arco comes from a bark of multiple species of Teabebuia trees, grown in South American rainforests. It can grow up to 125 feet tall and has pink-to-purple flowers, which bloom before new leaves appear. This tree is incredibly dense and rot-resistant wood is used by native peoples to make hunting bows.
What is Pau D’arco used for?
This bark of the tree is used in traditional medicine and usually prepared as a tea. Pau D’Arco has been used in South America to treat a wide range of ailments including arthritis, pain, inflammation. Pau D’arco is also high in selenium, a mineral with antioxidant and immune-boosting effects.
